Real Love - Pain and Suffering or Freedom and Joy

A friend was asking me if I read Ken Wilber and studied Buddhism.

Here is what comes to me.

My mind is a complete emptiness and words flow form the the unmanifested into a dream of where you read them...

They come to you where you are...

No, I have never read Ken Wilber, I have a very good friend who has read most if not all of his books.

You had said Ken writes:

"Real love hurts; real love makes you totally vulnerable and open; real love will take you far beyond yourself; and therefore real love will devastate you. I kept thinking, if love does not shatter you, you do not know love"

Now I probably should know the before and after pages, to make sure I do not take this out of context - but based on this paragraph here is what comes...

If a person is completely identified with "ego" = "individuality" as being who they are... It is easy to feel that love would hurt...

For real love "is" beyond individuality...

So your pain is from going to real love while being identified with individuality... ego feels a sense of abandonment...

Real love will not devastate you, for that "you" that Ken is talking about never really was you in the first place.

It is ego identification and fear that your "ego" or "individual self" would come to an end, "as" you are still attached to it perceiving it is who you are...

If who you are comes to an end as you are identified with it your perception is that "you" cease to exist...

Make any sense to you?

The truth is:

To be attached to anything is to suffer...

To be identified with "anything" as being who you are is to also suffer...

For all suffering comes from a perception of loss...

If you feel your wife and child are yours... you will suffer when they die... they never where yours to begin with... you do not own them... to incorrectly perceive that you do is to suffer loss when they go away, or you go away from them...

Ken is not experiencing the whole picture... for "real love" is the absence of all suffering... it is the extension of love to all in each moment of NOW...

Real love of the "unconditional kind" is beyond suffering for it attaches to nothing...

It uplifts everything...

It includes everything...

When all is included in love... nothing is abandoned...

When nothing is abandoned joy of unconditional love and acceptance is experienced by all...

Each piece is brought into one whole...

With every breath this whole extends the kingdom of God in love...

Your single greatest achievement in life is the moment you realize you have released the need to know who you are...

To try to discover or label who you are is to for ever miss the experience...

The very moment you surrender your need to know or define who you are...

That is the moment you will remember God...

and your smile will have no end...
