Last night's Loreena McKennitt Concert

Last night Trista (my wife) and I went to see Loreena McKennitt in concert at the A.J Polumbo Center.

As we walk from the parking garage to the center where the concert was we are holding hands and swinging them. As I look over Trista has a big smile. That same smile that I never get tired of seeing. My wife is fun, every moment with her is magical...

We walk though the security and in front of us is the booth were they sell the merchandise. I am scanning the merchandise quickly with my eyes. I spy a shirt that I know she will like. I point it out to her. She does like it, and we hand the cash to the vendor. Lots of ones...

I smile as I remember recently being at Costco with Trista, we paid the whole bill with ones (the change we had got from a recent garage sale) The check out clerk looks at all the ones and

I say excitedly "We're exotic dancers" - and then I bust out laughing.

The clerks says "You're bad" as she is laughing very hard too.

We walk into the concert find where are seats are and are way up at the very top, of the top of the concert hall. We did not expect much better seats - as we just got tickets a few days before the concert. We are very spontaneous like that.

One of the ushers walks up to us and says "how would you like better seats?"

We say "that would be great!"

So we move down out of "peanut heaven" to seats that are very good. We can actually see the people on the stage and know who is who :-)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two rows from me is a wonderful person from our new "Course in Miracles" group. I say hello to her. A few moments later three more people from our course in miracles group show up and their seats are two rows in front of us. We say hello to them too.

Out of all those people at the concert - those people who focus on spiritually, love and lack of judgment are nearest us.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Much further away we see more friends. We see a group of friends that are mad at us for not condemning an ex-husband - who we are also very good friends with.

To expect either Trista or myself to judge or condemn anyone - is to first: not really know us - and second: to be very disappointed because it's never going to happen.

We will not judge or condemn anyone, not because it's the right thing to do.

But because it is simply who we are...

We love everyone and that is that...

We are not sorry we are this way...

We will not ever pretend to be different...

In case you're not familiar with Loreena's music go here
to view some videos.

Loreena has never been to Pittsburgh, PA before.

It was such a wonder to have her share the beauty of the gift of music with all of us.

As the concert begins - her voice is what you would imagine an angel would sound like...

Her skin looked like it was bathed in a golden light as her blond hair reflected the stage lights...it was as if she was an angel on stage...

She had a amazing purity about her...

I watched in amazement - as her voice gently caressed each and every person at the the concert...

The first time she spoke and explained how she got interested in this type of music - you could tell you were in the presence of a person that was so soft, so gentle, a deep and genuine caring and love was expressed in every word...

You could tell she lived this caring...

She lived this love...

She was sharing from the bottom of her heart in each breath...

The group of musicians that make the music were all equally amazing...

Each totally passionate about the music...each outstanding in not only their abilities but how they worked together as one wonderful expression...

From fast and exciting solo duals - to slow expressions of love...

Every moment was filled with a wonder that was ethereal....

From envisioning mountains with trees grounded in the observation of life....

To a single breath of love...

It was a wonderful sharing of love...

After the concert we were talking with
Renee and Blake (good friends who we have not talked to since the beginning of the summer) Renee and Blake are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. Renee introduced me to Trista 10 and half years ago. Renee is one of the worlds top fantasy artists you can see here work here

While we were talking Loreena came out and started meeting people and signing autographs.

We got to meet her in person. She talked to Trista's and signed her program.

She was such a sweetheart. I gave her a hug :-)

and we were off...it was such a wonderful evening!
